Hi this is John with this week’s Coding Challenge.
🙏 Thank you for being one of the 79,743 software developers who have subscribed, I’m honoured to have you as a reader. 🎉
If there is a Coding Challenge you’d like to see, please let me know by replying to this email📧
I’m hoping you can help. I have a question for you…
Almost every week someone reaches out and asks if I’ve thought of gamifying Coding Challenges and suggests adding automated tests and a leaderboard.
And the answer is yes, yes I have, I just haven’t had the time to whilst I’ve focused on creating a diverse set of coding challenges, with projects ranging from command line tools, through systems software to programming language interpreters.
So my question for you is this:
Should I focus on writing more challenges or should I focus on building the infrastructure to provide automated tests and a leaderboard?
For those of you hoping for a new project this weekend, let me introduce you to my friends at CodeCrafters, they have 11 projects you can work on and provide tests and a leaderboard so you can see how you’re doing.
You can try their projects out for free. If you want the full experience you can get 40% off and support Coding Challenges if you use my link to sign-up.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards, John

Do you know CodeCrafters?
Perhaps you can join forces with them, they already have a leaderboard and testing CI set up.
This could free you more time to design the challenges
